Unlike the majority of public (and private) schooling systems, engrenage focuses on transdisciplinary, transgenerational tuition ; this way education is continous througout a person’s lifetime, and the generation gap is kept as tight as possible. Everyone is encouraged to learn and let taught regardless of the peer.

Schooling is organized as such:

heal/meditate/contemplate/educate
cook/entertain/farm
thick solids (machining, structures, material resistance)
thin solids (sewing, fabrics, paper, origami, thin metal sheets)
plastics, soft/flabby/yielding solids, phase changes
fluids (liquids and gases), electricity
chemistry, alchemy, cybernetics, philosophy
